In the book of Revelation, the Church of Philadelphia is described as one of the seven churches located in Asia Minor. This letter to the church highlights the praiseworthy qualities of the church, such as its faithfulness, endurance, and obedience to the word of God. After lunch at a local restaurant, drive to Laodicea. Laodicea was an economically important city, but the church had spiritual problems. This led John to warn them of impending spiritual bankruptcy. Continue to Hierapolis which is known today as Pamukkale. In the Roman era Hierapolis was a prominent center for healing and wellness. It has been famous with thermal springs, believed to have therapeutic properties, attracted visitors from far and wide. Day 3: Pamukkale - House of Virgin Mary - Ephesus – Basilica of St. John - Izmir
After breakfast depart Pamukkale, drive approximately 3 hours. Your first stop will be the visit to the House of Virgin Mary, located in Selçuk, Turkey. The house is believed to be the final resting place of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
